    I served as a CASA for three different cases over four years before I came onto staff. Supporting our volunteers with as they advocate for children in our community is my favorite part of my job. I am so honored to see the differences that can be made through their advocacy.

VOLUNTEERING

CASA volunteers are community members who desire to be a voice for children. Being a CASA volunteer does not require a special background or a particular degree. All training and screening is provided by our office, free of charge.

    After being involved with foster children while owning a child care center, I became acutely aware of the struggles the children face while in care. Children have always been a passion and I wanted to become involved in standing up for these kids during a time they need someone to be their voice and advocate!

    If not me then who? I have always been passionate about helping children find their voice and be heard. As a two-time cancer survivor, I was no longer able to work, but I still wanted to make a difference. You don't have to have experience in child welfare, you just need to want to make a difference in a child's life. I mean who wouldn't want to do that, right?

    I have been a CASA volunteer for two years. As a teacher, I have seen many foster kids enter my classroom carrying the weight of their trauma. I wanted to do more for these children than what I was able to do in my classroom. This led me to CASA.
